Presidency spokesman accuses Israeli FM of supporting terrorism following statements against President Abbas

RAMALLAH: The official spokesman for the presidency Nabil Abu Rudeineh condemned statements made by Israeli Foreign Minister Israel Katz against President Mahmoud Abbas, and accused him of 'supporting terrorism.' The official presidential spokesman considered that these statements come within the framework of the ongoing Israeli aggression against Palestinian people and the campaign of incitement against President Abbas and the Palestinian leadership. He stressed that Gaza will only be part of the independent Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital, and that any plans or illusions other than that are destined to fail, and that Israel will not succeed in its attempts to change the geographical and demographic reality in the Gaza Strip. Abu Rudeineh stressed the position of President Abbas on the necessity of ending the division, achieving unity, and putting the internal affairs in order, by adhering to the program of the PLO, the sole legitimate representative of Palestinian people, and to all of it s international obligations. He stressed that Israel, the occupying power, worked to weaken the Palestinian Authority in the West Bank, destroy the two-state solution, and disrupt the implementation of the signed agreements, and on the other hand, strengthen the Palestinian division in collusion with several parties to perpetuate the isolation of the Gaza Strip, keep it separate from the West Bank, and prevent the embodiment of an independent and sovereign Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital, which is what Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has repeatedly stated.
