Public Prosecution, Chinese counterpart discuss technology cooperation

Manama: The Public Prosecution held a remote meeting with experts in technology and artificial intelligence (AI) from the the Supreme People's Procuratorate (SPP) of China. This meeting came within the framework of the implementation of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Public Prosecution and its Chinese counterpart. During the meeting, the two sides discussed the exchange of expertise and methods and mechanisms of applying technologies in the operations of the Public Prosecution, according to China's system. Representing the Public Prosecution in the meeting was Counselor Abdullah Al Dosari, the Chief of the Office of International Cooperation and Human Rights. The meeting also reviewed the mechanisms and governing rules of the SPP of China, along with the electronic systems utilised by the Public Prosecution of Bahrain in managing its criminal case responsibilities, both judicial and administrative, and its plans to advance its technological capabilities. On his part, Al Dosari commende d the productive cooperation between the two prosecution offices in training and skill development. He emphasised the importance of technological collaboration in advancing the tools and methods of work within the Public Prosecution, highlighting the extensive expertise of their Chinese counterparts in this field. Additional meetings are planned for the near future to discuss technical details, with the goal of effectively implementing artificial intelligence in the criminal justice system in compliance with legal provisions.
