Rabat Hosts Sixth Annual Anti-Corruption Meeting in Financial Sector

Rabat:The National Authority for Integrity, Prevention and the Fight Against Corruption (INPPLC) and the financial sector authorities, including Bank Al-Maghrib (BAM), the Moroccan Capital Market Authority (AMMC), and the Insurance and Social Welfare Supervisory Authority (ACAPS), convened for their sixth annual meeting to review the progress of the Cooperation Convention on the Prevention of and Fight Against Corruption in the Financial Sector (CASF), initially signed in November 2019.

According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, the meeting provided a platform to assess the progress made during the 2025-2026 period, approve a roadmap for 2027-2028, and discuss recent national and international developments in anti-corruption efforts. The previous period saw initiatives such as targeted training sessions benefiting over 900 staff members and enhanced partnerships with the Moroccan Foundation for Financial Education (FMEF).

The meeting also highlighted the sharing of best practices through events like the Forum of ISO 37001-Certified Organizations, which included over 70 officials from 40 organizations. This collaborative approach emphasized the importance of cross-sector involvement in combating corruption.

Looking ahead, the 2027-2028 roadmap aims to strengthen professional capabilities, promote integrity, and implement action plans based on corruption risk assessments. It also seeks to develop academic partnerships and international cooperation, with INPPLC aiming for ISO 37001 certification by 2027.

The institutions concluded the meeting by reaffirming their commitment to deepen cooperation and contribute to national anti-corruption efforts, serving as a model for other sectors.
