Royal Air Maroc Expands Flight Network to Southern Moroccan Provinces

Marrakech: Royal Air Maroc (RAM) has announced a significant expansion of its domestic flight network to the southern provinces of Morocco. The plan includes new routes linking Marrakech to Dakhla and Laayoune, increased frequencies from Rabat to Laayoune and Dakhla, expanded services from Casablanca to Laayoune, Guelmim, and Tan-Tan, and the planned launch in November of the direct Casablanca-Es-Smara route, according to a statement from the airline.

According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, RAM remains committed to improving regional accessibility, promoting tourism, and supporting socio-economic development. This strategic plan, developed in partnership with the regions of Dakhla-Oued Eddahab, Laayoune-Sakia El Hamra, and Guelmim-Oued Noun, aims to interconnect all regions of the Kingdom, meeting citizens’ needs while supporting local economic growth.

Since 2005, RAM’s flight offerings from the southern provinces have increased significantly, with weekly flights growing from an average of six (90,000 seats) to 63, representing nearly one million seats by 2025. RAM CEO Hamid Addou emphasized that the development of domestic air connections, particularly from the southern provinces, aligns with the directives of His Majesty King Mohammed VI. Strengthening connectivity in the South aims to efficiently link regions, promote mobility, and support territorial dynamism.
