Royal Atlantic Initiative Lauded as Model for Co-development and Intra-African Solidarity


Rabat: In a statement to MAP, the Spanish Secretary of State praised the Royal Vision, which positions Morocco as a key player in shared stability and development along the African Atlantic coast. She noted that this initiative will positively impact the continent, both in terms of economic exchanges and the prosperity and resilience of its peoples.



According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, the Spanish official emphasized that the Royal Vision for Atlantic Africa, which integrates Sahel countries and the western coast of the continent into a dynamic of co-development, aligns with the philosophy advocated by Spain and the European Union. This philosophy promotes a balanced, solidarity-based, and human-centered partnership.



The Secretary of State further highlighted Morocco’s strategic role in Africa and the Sahel region. She pointed out that Morocco’s geopolitical position and stability make it the best partner for Spain and the EU in the coordinated management of migration flows.



Cancela Rodr­guez also remarked on the common history and culture shared by Morocco and Spain, which translates into a positive migration policy founded on dialogue, solidarity, and human rights. She asserted that the Kingdom is an “essential partner and an example of constructive cooperation in the region.”



The Spanish official also addressed the importance of promoting regular, safe, and orderly migration, advocating for an approach to migration that respects dignity and sustainable human mobility.
