Several Moroccan Provinces Expect Thunderstorms, Heavy Rain, Strong Wind Gusts on Thursday


Rabat: Thunderstorms, heavy rain and strong winds are forecast for Thursday in several provinces of the Kingdom, according to the Directorate General of Meteorology (DGM).



According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, heavy rain and thunderstorms ranging from 50 to 90 mm are expected on Thursday from midnight to 11 p.m. in Chefchaouen and Tetouan. This information was detailed in an orange-level alert bulletin issued by the DGM.



During the same period, similar weather conditions with rainfall amounts between 30-50 mm are expected to affect the provinces of Larache, Al Hoceima, Fahs-Anjra, and M’Diq-Fnideq. Meanwhile, Tangier-Assilah, Taounate, Taza, and Ouazzane are likely to record rainfall between 20 and 30 mm.



Strong wind gusts, ranging from 75 to 90 km/h, are also forecast for Thursday from midnight to 11:00 p.m. These gusts are expected in the provinces of Fahs-Anjra, Larache, Tangier-Assilah, Tetouan, M’Diq-Fnideq, Taroudant, Ouarzazate, Midelt, Kenitra, Berkane, Driouch, Figuig, Nador, Oujda-Angad, El Jadida, Safi, Sidi Bennour, El Hajeb, Ifrane, Boulemane, Sefrou, Al Hoceima, Guercif, Taouante, Taza, Chefchaouen, and Taourirt.
