Several Palestinians suffocate by tear gas during confrontations south of Bethlehem

BETHELEM: Several Palestinians suffered from suffocation during an Israeli military incursion into the village of Artas, south of Bethlehem. Security sources said that the occupation forces raided the said village and stationed at the Zahia roundabout near the entrance leading to the Al-Shuhda Cemetery, where they deployed snipers on the roofs of some houses, sparking confrontations. Following the raid, intense confrontations broke out local youths and Israeli forces, during which the occupation fired live bullets, stun grenades, and poisonous teargas, causing several suffocation cases among residents due to inhaling the toxic teargas. The occupation forces also prevented Palestinian Red Crescent crews from reaching the injured individuals to provide first aid to them. Meanwhile, the occupation forces assaulted and brutally beat up the journalists Hisham Abu Shakra and Abdul Rahman Younis, seized their cameras.
