Shura Council wins Digital Government Award for Arab States 2023

The Shura Council’s General Secretariat won the Digital Government Award for the Arab States 2023, organized by the International Excellence Foundation (IEF), based in Florida – US, in the Remote Government Work category.

The award ceremony held its 18th session in the UAE, with the participation of various government agencies from the Arab region.

The award was received by Abeer Abdullah Al Obaidly, Director of the Information and Communications Technology Department.

The categories include Remote Government Work, Government Achievements, Government Innovation, Government Websites, Applications, Social Media Accounts, Social Responsibility, and Government Digital Content.

The Shura Council accomplished this achievement through the use of the latest administrative and technical methods, and modern technology, under the directives of Ali bin Saleh Al Saleh, Chairman of the Shura Council, and the follow up of Karima Mohammad Al Abbasi, Secretary General of the Shura Council.

Al Abbasi said that the accomplishment is a result of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa’s support to develop the legislative system, followed by the directives of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.

The Shura Council met all ten criteria for the award, which requires evidence and documents to confirm that the institution secures principles followed in remote work, which includes adjusting its rules and regulations in accordance.
