Snowfall and Thunderstorms to Hit Moroccan Provinces Mid-Week


Rabat: Snowfall and heavy thunderstorms are expected on Wednesday and Thursday in several provinces of the Kingdom, according to the General Directorate of Meteorology (DGM).

According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, snowfall measuring 5 to 15 cm is anticipated on elevations exceeding 1,600 meters on Thursday from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. in the provinces of Al Haouz, Azilal, Midelt, Tinghir, Beni Mellal, and Ouarzazate, as stated in an orange-level alert bulletin from the DGM.

Additionally, heavy thunderstorms with precipitation of 20 to 30 mm are forecast on Wednesday from 4 p.m. to 11 p.m. in the provinces of Mdiq-Fnideq, Tétouan, Oujda-Angad, Nador, Driouch, Berkane, Jerada, Taourirt, Guercif, and Taza.
