Rabat: Morocco national football team head coach Mohamed Ouahbi said on Tuesday in Sal© that the strong performances of the country’s youth national teams are a source of confidence in the future of Moroccan football.
According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, Ouahbi spoke at a press conference held at the Mohammed VI Football Complex in Maamoura to review the Atlas Lions’ participation in the 2026 FIFA World Cup, co-hosted by the United States, Canada, and Mexico. He expressed optimism, stating, “I like to look ahead to the future of the Moroccan national team, and the future will be even brighter.” He highlighted that the young players’ performances enable them to compete with the world’s best teams.
Ouahbi emphasized the continuity of their current plan, stating that they are committed to building on their achievements at this World Cup. He stressed that Morocco’s success at the 2022 World Cup in Qatar should not be perceived as an isolated event, but as evidence that the country is on the right track in its football endeavors.
He further noted that the national team is not embarking on a new project but is continuing the work initiated in previous years. Ouahbi underscored the importance of maintaining progress to elevate the national team’s standard and secure its position among the world’s top teams.
