Rabat: Severe thunderstorms accompanied by local hail, gusty winds, and intense heat are expected in several provinces across Morocco on Wednesday and Thursday, according to a weather alert issued by the General Directorate of Meteorology (DGM).
According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, rainfall ranging between 15 and 25 mm is forecast on Wednesday between 2:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. in the provinces of El Hajeb, Ifrane, Boulemane, Sefrou, Taza, Khenifra, Azilal, Beni Mellal, and Midelt, as indicated in an orange-level alert bulletin from the DGM.
In addition, hot weather is expected on both Wednesday and Thursday in several regions, with temperatures ranging between 39°C and 45°C, the same source noted in another orange-level alert. This heatwave is also forecast to affect the provinces of Ouezzane, Larache, Tanger-Assilah, Moulay Yacoub, El Hajeb, Fez, Taza, Taounate, Meknes, Skhirate-Temara, Sidi Slimane, Kenitra, Rabat, Sal©, Sidi Kacem, Khemisset, Fquih Ben Salah, Khenifra, Beni Mellal, Khouribga, Mediouna, Nouaceur, Berrechid, Mohammedia, Benslimane, Casablanca, Settat, Youssoufia, Chichaoua, Marrakech, Rehamna, El Kelaa des Sraghna, Zagora, Tata, Assa-Zag, Es-Semara, Aousserd, and Oued Ed-Dahab, the DGM underscored.
