Manama: Fatima bint Jaafar Al Sairafi, Minister of Tourism, met with Abdullah bin Touq Al Marri, Emirati Minister of Economy, who is visiting Bahrain to participate as a keynote speaker in the second edition of the Gateway Gulf Forum on November 3-4. The meeting aimed at further strengthening the ties between the two nations in the tourism sector.
According to Bahrain News Agency, the Tourism Minister highlighted the strong historical ties between Bahrain and the UAE, underscoring the support these relations receive from the leadership of both nations. She emphasized the vital role of the tourism sector in promoting direct commercial investments and fostering sustainable tourism development in the region.
Minister Al Sairafi noted that Bahrain has introduced tourism packages aimed at promoting the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states as a unified tourist destination. This initiative coincides with Manama’s designation as the 2024 Capital of Gulf Tourism, which is expected to attract more visitors and inves
tment to the region.
The UAE Minister commended Bahrain’s efforts in advancing the tourism sector, affirming that cooperation between the two countries enhances tourism sector capabilities and expands investment opportunities. He expressed his anticipation for further achievements within the framework of the strategic partnership between Bahrain and the UAE, serving both nations’ interests and advancing sustainable development.
