Rabat: The United Kingdom views Morocco as a land of opportunity and aims to double the volume of its trade with the Kingdom over the next five to seven years, British Minister of State for International Trade Chris Bryant said Tuesday in Rabat.

According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, speaking following his meetings with Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Moroccan Expatriates Nasser Bourita, Bryant emphasized that ‘trade between Morocco and the United Kingdom currently stands at around 4.5 billion pounds sterling,’ expressing the hope of doubling this volume over the course of the next five to seven years.

The British Minister of State also conveyed the United Kingdom’s willingness to collaborate with Morocco, as a strategic partner, to ensure the success of major sporting events, particularly the 2030 World Cup.

Accompanied by some 50 companies with expertise in hosting large international sporting events, Bryant is on an official visit to Morocco to take part in the Morocco-UK Business Forum, held on June 2 and 3, 2026.

Morocco and the United Kingdom will also hold the 4th session of the Morocco-United Kingdom Association Council.
