UNGA: Morocco’s FM Meets in New York with Malian Peer


New York (United Nations) – Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccans Abroad, Nasser Bourita, met, Monday in New York, with Mali’s minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Abdoulaye Diop, on the sidelines of the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly.



The two sides welcomed, on this occasion, the historical depth of the ties of friendship and solidarity binding the two countries.



They also discussed the means to step up bilateral cooperation to meet the aspirations of the two brotherly peoples and their Heads of State.



This meeting, which is part of the regular exchanges between the two sides, was an opportunity to tackle regional and international issues of common interest.



The Malian minister praised the commitment of His Majesty King Mohammed VI to strengthen bilateral relations between Morocco and Mali.



The two ministers welcomed their convergence of views on the various issues discussed and underlined the importance of strengthening coordination at the various regional and international multilateral platforms.



The Malian official seized this opportunity to underline his country’s commitment to the operationalization of the international Initiative of His Majesty King Mohammed VI to promote access of Sahel countries to the Atlantic Ocean.
