Essaouira: The city of Essaouira is a unique global reference point for intercultural dialogue, tolerance, and peaceful coexistence, Minister of Culture and Sport for the Regional Government of Andalusia Patricia del Pozo Fernández said on Saturday in Bayt Dakira museum.

According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, speaking at a symposium held as part of the 3rd Soul of Cultures international festival, del Pozo Fernández hailed the diverse identity of the Windy City, which she described as ‘an authentic model of cohabitation, where traditions, beliefs, and cultures have lived side by side and interacted in harmony since the dawn of time’.

She emphasized that Essaouira is a unique example of how culture and spirituality can serve as bridges between peoples, where tolerance and harmonious coexistence are not mere ideals, but a reality rooted in everyday life. Del Pozo Fernández observed that the shared heritage of priceless richness is evident in the arts, cultures, and crafts, which bear witness to this history
and help build bridges between societies.

Del Pozo Fernández further expressed her appreciation for the commitment of local players to preserving and promoting Essaouira’s exceptional heritage, noting that the Soul of Cultures Festival perfectly illustrates the city’s mission as a land of openness and living together.
