World Football Sees Transformation Under Infantino, States Moroccan Federation Head


Rabat: World football is undergoing a quiet revolution under the era of Gianni Infantino, President of FIFA, said Fouzi Lekjaa, President of the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF). “Overall, we are witnessing a quiet revolution in world football, a metamorphosis of FIFA,” Lekjaa stated in a video message broadcast on the Moroccan national team’s social media accounts on the occasion of the ten years Infantino has spent at the helm of the international football governing body.

According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, Lekjaa discussed Infantino’s record since his election on February 26, 2016. Lekjaa emphasized the significant achievements under Infantino’s leadership, describing it as a complete transformation of FIFA. He highlighted the total revision of FIFA’s governance, particularly the financial restructuring, which has increased FIFA’s revenues and resources. This financial improvement has enabled the doubling and tripling of development efforts across all continents.

Lekjaa also pointed out the
revisions and reforms related to competitions, such as increasing the number of teams in the men’s World Cup and extending these reforms to all competitions across various age categories, covering both men’s and women’s football. He noted that African and global federations have benefited from the resources allocated to development, accelerating football development programs in terms of infrastructure and technical supervision.
