Rabat: Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates Nasser Bourita informed the House of Councillors on Tuesday that in 2024, the Ministry successfully managed a total of 1,345 requests and complaints submitted through the “chikaya.ma” national claims portal.
According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, during the question time, Bourita emphasized that “chikaya.ma” serves as a crucial framework for addressing the concerns of Moroccans worldwide. He underscored the necessity of understanding and considering the expectations of Moroccan citizens.
The Minister outlined that the complaints received are categorized into four main types. The first involves consular issues related to procedures and services provided by diplomatic missions. The second category deals with matters concerning civil status or personal affairs.
The fourth category consists of complaints of a social, economic, or financial nature, covering topics such as taxation and land ownership. Bourita assured that the Ministry directly handles all complaints within its jurisdiction, while other claims are directed to appropriate departments or the Hassan II Foundation for Moroccans Residing Abroad.
He also highlighted the coordination with the Institution of the Ombudsman to address these complaints and noted that a new framework, instituted by His Majesty King Mohammed VI regarding the Mohammedia Foundation for Moroccans Residing Abroad, aims to manage these complaints and expectations more effectively. This framework seeks to provide timely responses and ensure better coordination among relevant departments.
