Rabat: The 141st Diplomatic hub highlighted, on Tuesday in Rabat, the role of Morocco’s major development projects in strengthening its position as a competitive industrial hub on the global stage. Part of a series of meetings, this session, held at the initiative of the Diplomatic Foundation, provided a space for discussion and exchange of ideas between key development stakeholders, aiming to bolster cooperation and deepen reflections on the Kingdom’s strategic projects.
According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, speaking before a gathering of accredited ambassadors in Morocco, the Minister of Industry and Trade, Ryad Mezzour, reviewed the efforts made to develop the national industrial system. He emphasized that Morocco has undergone a major transformation in this area over the last few decades and that a country’s development is indivisible from the growth of its industrial sector.
The official then highlighted the signing of large-scale international economic agreements and the launch of strategies aimed at strengthening the industrial ecosystem and the business climate of the country. He also noted that these actions are part of targeted policies that take into account global developments and competitiveness imperatives, ensuring national sovereignty in the manufacturing sector.
Mezzour further stressed that Morocco’s industrial sector has become a true driver of investment and exports, evidenced by doubling jobs, tripling of the number of businesses, and a fourfold increase in transaction volumes.
For his part, the President of the Diplomatic Foundation, Abdelati Habek, highlighted the major progress made by Morocco’s industrial system in recent years, thanks to an ambitious economic openness policy inspired by a global vision. He also pointed out that this system is now a key pillar of economic recovery, inclusive and sustainable social development, contributing significantly to Gross Domestic Product (GDP), job creation, and the integration of skilled labor.
Furthermore, Habek praised the ability of Moroccan industry to stand out in high-value sectors and specializations, becoming a crucial lever of economic development, production, and exports.
