Rabat: Airports of Morocco (formerly the National Airports Office – ONDA) announced on Thursday the introduction of a new way to travel by allowing passengers to use a fully digital boarding pass, accessible directly from their smartphone.

According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, with just a few clicks, travelers can now find themselves in the boarding lounge. Airports of Morocco has introduced the Pax Check into their systems, aligning with the evolving usage where mobile phones have become the starting point of every journey. Key steps such as booking, check-in, and accessing flight information are already conducted online.

After checking in online via their airline’s app, travelers receive their boarding pass in the form of a secure QR code. Document verification is performed beforehand by the airlines in accordance with current regulatory requirements, allowing for smoother passage through various checkpoints and automated gates without the need for a printed boarding pass.

By simplifying various steps
of the process, Pax Check reduces document handling, facilitates movement within terminals, and contributes to making the airport experience more comfortable. This evolution is accompanied by the maintenance of the highest safety and security standards, in compliance with national and international guidelines.

The system will be gradually deployed to all airlines that have met the technical, operational, and regulatory prerequisites necessary for its integration. Digital boarding passes are the first step towards an increasingly digital airport experience, designed to respond to changing habits and the growth in air traffic.
