On Tuesday afternoon, His Majesty the King visited the Mohammed VI University Hospital in Marrakech, where the Sovereign inquired about the health of the injured victims of the painful earthquake. This noble humanitarian gesture reflects the High Benevolence with which His Majesty the King embraces all citizens, particularly during difficult times.

On this occasion, the survivors admitted to this hospital facility expressed their heartfelt thanks and deep gratitude to His Majesty the King for the immediate care they received after the earthquake.

Indeed, a substantial logistical and human deployment was put in place in accordance with the Royal High Instructions to urgently deploy significant aerial and terrestrial resources, as well as specialized intervention modules consisting of search and rescue teams and a field medical-surgical hospital. This deployment was aimed at immediately assisting all those who found themselves homeless and in distress.

These survivors expressed immense relief due to the efforts made and actions taken by public authorities, law enforcement, rescue teams, and medical personnel from the moment they were rescued from the rubble to their admission to hospitals for necessary medical care. They also prayed for the Most High to preserve His Majesty the King and bless the Sovereign, as well as His Royal Highness Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan and all members of the illustrious Royal Family.

In this regard, Abdelaziz stated that the assistance provided to him, from his transfer in an ambulance to his admission to the hospital where he underwent foot surgery, alleviated the shock.

He emphasized that he received the necessary medical and psychological assistance thanks to the efforts of medical professionals, expressing his gratitude to other responders who helped him contact his family and meet his basic needs (food, clothing, etc.).

The sentiment was the same for Saïda, a resident of Douar Filala, who expressed her deep gratitude and appreciation to His Majesty the King for His High Solicitude.

Saïda, who accompanied her son to the hospital for fractures, explained that her son required an X-ray and mentioned that he received the necessary medical intervention. She also expressed her sincere thanks to the medical staff who spared no effort to assist her and provide the necessary care.

As for the young Mohammed, who, along with his brother, was injured in the collapse of part of a store’s roof, he noted that he received the necessary medical assistance at the Mohammed VI University Hospital in Marrakech. He expressed his heartfelt thanks and deep gratitude to His Majesty the King.

The relief and support efforts also extended to foreign nationals living in Morocco who were among the survivors. In this regard, a Gambian national who suffered a leg injury expressed his high regard for the assistance he received at the hospital.

Touched, he said he was “very grateful to His Majesty the King,” explaining that he was sleeping at the time the earthquake occurred. He also mentioned that his neighbors assisted him in leaving his home before the Civil Protection personnel intervened to transfer him to the hospital.

Faced with this challenge, the all-encompassing mobilization of all stakeholders continues relentlessly to rescue other survivors and provide them with support and assistance. This exemplifies the values of mutual aid and solidarity that all Moroccans have always demonstrated and underscores the High Solicitude that His Majesty the King continues to extend to all citizens.
