‘Al Othmane’ Triumphs in HM King Mohammed VI’s Grand Prix for English Thoroughbreds at Casablanca Racecourse.


Casablanca: The horse ‘Al Othmane’, owned by Mohammed Aziz Bennani, claimed victory on Saturday at the Casablanca-Anfa racecourse, securing HM King Mohammed VI’s Grand Prix for English thoroughbreds as part of the 10th Morocco International Meeting for horse races.

According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, ‘Al Othmane’, ridden by Aziz Jabafi, emerged victorious during the first day of the competition organized by the Royal Society of Horse Encouragement (SOREC) for English thoroughbreds. The event spans two days, with the second day set to feature Arabian thoroughbreds.

The 10th anniversary of the Morocco International Meeting will feature 14 races over the two days, including eight international competitions. The races will be broadcast across approximately twenty countries, including the United States, the Netherlands, Germany, South Africa, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Belgium, Australia, New Zealand, Cyprus, Turkey, Sweden, Côte d’Ivoire, Italy, and France, allowing horse racing enthusiasts around the w
orld to watch the events live.

The second day, dedicated to Arabian thoroughbreds, will include four prestigious prizes: HM King Mohammed VI’s Grand Prix, HRH Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan’s Grand Prix, HRH Prince Moulay Rachid Grand Prix, and the UAE President’s Cup.
