Rabat: The African Union (AU) Commission has expressed its gratitude to Morocco for its hosting of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON).

According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, AU Commission Chairperson Mahmoud Ali Youssouf conveyed the Commission’s appreciation to His Majesty the King, the government, and the people of Morocco for their organization of the tournament. Youssouf also acknowledged Morocco’s hospitality and the professionalism demonstrated during the competition.

Youssouf highlighted that the successful hosting of AFCON showcases Africa’s ability to stage significant sporting events that unite the continent. He emphasized the role of AFCON in bringing Africans together across various cultures, borders, and generations.

Additionally, Youssouf extended his best wishes to all African teams, including Morocco, for continued success on the global stage, particularly at the upcoming World Cup.
