Casablanca: The Bayt Mal Al-Quds Acharif Agency, under the Al-Quds Committee chaired by HM King Mohammed VI, launched Wednesday, in several neighborhoods of Al-Quds and its surrounding areas, an operation to distribute more than 3,000 schoolbags and school supplies to pupils from disadvantaged social backgrounds, ahead of the 2026-2027 school year.

According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, this operation is part of the social and economic back-to-school program in Al-Quds and the Agency’s commitments to the education sector under its integrated 2027-2030 program. It is funded by the Fez Municipal Council and the Moroccan Association for Support to Reconstruction in Palestine.

The initiative commenced in the village of Nabi Samuel, northwest of Al-Quds, and continued in Silwan, south of the Old City. The beneficiaries include pupils of the Siraj Al-Quds Association and School, the Al-Bustan Foundation, the Al-Quds Youth Heritage Forum, the Association of Oum Lissoun Women in Ras Al-Amoud, and the Wadi Al-Joz
Charitable Association.

The distribution also covers several other areas around Al-Quds, including Al-Ram, Jaba, Bab Al-Amoud, the Old City, Al-Tour, Bab Al-Sahira, Beit Hanina, the Shuafat and Qalandia camps, Al-Jdeira, Bir Nabala, and Al-Eizariya.

This initiative targets upper primary and secondary pupils from needy or low-income families, orphans, children with special needs, and pupils in schools under the Directorate of Education in Al-Quds, particularly those with the highest rates of need.

Each schoolbag is equipped with basic school supplies, such as Arabic, English, and drawing notebooks, pens, and writing and coloring materials, among other necessary items.

The Bayt Mal Al-Quds Acharif Agency emphasized that this social and humanitarian initiative aims to ease the financial burdens on needy Maqdessi families, support pupils at the start of the school year, and strengthen family resilience. Education is seen as a key lever for preserving the authentic Palestinian identity of the Holy City.

ously, on July 15 in Ramallah, the Bayt Mal Al-Quds Acharif Agency announced the main components of its integrated program to support education and training in Al-Quds for 2027-2030. The program focuses on improving the school environment, expanding scholarships and training internships, supporting student projects within a startup and digital technology incubator, and strengthening extracurricular activities to preserve Palestinian identity.
