Casablanca: Morocco is officially participating for the first time in Gamescom 2026, the world’s largest event dedicated to the video game industry, held from August 26 to 30 in Cologne, Germany, with the aim of promoting its video game ecosystem internationally.
According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, the Moroccan Agency for Investment and Export Development (AMDIE), in collaboration with the Ministry of Youth, Culture and Communication, is leading Morocco’s participation through a national pavilion bringing together an institutional delegation as well as 11 Moroccan video game development studios.
AMDIE said in a statement that this participation marks a new step in the international promotion of Moroccan know-how in the gaming sector, noting that it provides participating studios with a visibility platform at the heart of one of the world’s leading video game markets, while facilitating their connections with publishers, investors, studios, and major players in the international industry.
Through this presence, AMDIE aims to help open up new business and partnership opportunities for Moroccan companies, support their internationalization efforts, and strengthen their integration into the global value chains of the video game industry.
Gamescom 2026, AMDIE underlines, thus serves as an international showcase for Moroccan gaming talent and companies, enabling them to present their creations and expertise, explore new opportunities, and develop collaborations with international players in the sector.
This participation is part of the momentum undertaken in Morocco to structure and develop the national video game ecosystem, notably through the “Morocco Gaming Expo,” which has become a major industry event at the national and regional levels.
The 2026 edition of the “Morocco Gaming Expo” brought together more than 80,000 visitors, 24 countries, 100 Moroccan exhibitors, and 48 international investors last May, confirming Morocco’s growing potential in this rapidly expanding sector.
