Accra: Benin’s Minister of Foreign Affairs with the responsibility of the Integration of People of African Descent, Corinne Amori Brunet, lauded on Tuesday in Cotonou the initiatives of His Majesty King Mohammed VI for Africa’s rise and development. Amori Brunet expressed this stance during her talks with Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Moroccan Expatriates Nasser Bourita, on the occasion of the 7th session of the Morocco-Benin Joint Cooperation Commission.

According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, the head of Benin’s diplomacy commended the momentum generated within the framework of the Atlantic African States Process (AASP) Initiative to transform their shared region into a geostrategic framework for cooperation and consultation. The two ministers highlighted the great success of the 7th AASP Ministerial Meeting, held in Cotonou on July 13, which marked another important milestone in enshrining the political momentum of this innovative African partnership.

In the same vein, the Beninese side welcomed the enlightened initiative of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, launched on the commemoration of the 48th anniversary of the Green March on November 6, 2023. This initiative aims at facilitating Sahel States’ access to the Atlantic Ocean and connecting them to the transportation and communication networks of their regional environment.
