Accra: The Republic of Benin and the Kingdom of Morocco expressed their satisfaction on Tuesday in Cotonou with the outcome of their bilateral cooperation, while affirming their shared commitment to strengthening and further diversifying their ties.

According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, during talks held ahead of the two countries’ co-chairing the 7th session of the Morocco-Benin Joint Cooperation Commission, Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Moroccan Expatriates Nasser Bourita, and Beninese Minister of Foreign Affairs with the responsibility of the Integration of People of African Descent Corinne Amori Brunet-accompanied by the Deputy Minister in charge of mobilizing external resources and managing debt Hugues Oscar Lokossou-expressed their satisfaction with the significant progress made in various areas of cooperation since the visit of His Majesty King Mohammed VI to Cotonou in June 2004.

These talks, which focused on the state of bilateral cooperation and the exploration of new avenues to breathe new life into it, also provided an opportunity to celebrate the deep bonds of fraternal and traditional friendship between the two countries, as well as the mutual respect between His Majesty King Mohammed VI and President Romuald Wadagni. It was also an opportunity to express the shared commitment to making Benin-Morocco partnership relations an exceptional model of intra-African cooperation, based on values of solidarity, exchange, and sharing.

In this vein, a wide range of promising sectors with strong potential were identified, including the economy, trade, industry, investment, tourism, agriculture, justice, security, vocational training, higher education, and scientific research, as well as health, digital technology, and culture.

Both parties also reaffirmed their determination to establish a strong economic partnership that engages both countries’ private sectors, inviting them to play a leading role in bolstering their economic exchanges and contributing to development funding.
