Caracas – Saint Vincent and the Grenadines has reaffirmed, before the members of the UN Committee of 24 (C-24), its support for Morocco’s autonomy plan, deeming it “the only solution” to the regional dispute over the Moroccan Sahara.

Speaking at the C-24 Caribbean Regional Seminar held on 14-16 May in Caracas, Lasana Andrews, Advisor to the Permanent Mission of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines to the UN, called on all parties to this regional dispute to remain engaged in the political process led under the aegis of the UN and work towards achieving a realistic, pragmatic, lasting and compromise solution to the Moroccan Sahara issue.

She also welcomed efforts made by the Personal Envoy of the UN Secretary-General for the Moroccan Sahara, Staffan de Mistura, aimed at facilitating the political process.
