Rabat: Under the theme ‘The potential of the Cameroon-Morocco partnership in industry and trade: co-development as a driver of investment,’ this Forum (September 10-12) aims to explore opportunities for co-development, facilitate direct contact between economic operators, and create frameworks for sustainable partnerships.

According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, Cameroon, boasting immense agricultural potential, natural resources, and position as a gateway to the Economic Community of Central African States (ECCAS), is a key strategic partner for Moroccan companies, said Hassan Sakhi, president of the Chamber of Commerce, Industry, and Services of the Rabat-Sal©-K©nitra region.

This meeting is part of South-South cooperation, he noted, adding that the long-standing, solid, and fraternal relations between the two countries are based on a shared vision for a prosperous, integrated Africa that is master of its economic destiny.

For his part, Cameroon’s ambassador to Morocco Mouhamadou Youssifou emphasized that his country’s delegation intends, through this participation, to explore new business partners and strengthen existing trade relations with Morocco, a key partner.

Cameroon deems the Kingdom, a major investor in its territory, a friendly country and a reliable partner, Youssifou said, highlighting the vast unexplored economic and commercial potential on both sides.

The program for this three-day gathering includes panels on ‘Challenges of the Cameroon-Morocco economic partnership’ and ‘Import substitution: a factor in industrial co-development and strengthening trade between Cameroon and Morocco.’ The Forum will conclude with B2B meetings and the signing of a memorandum of understanding.
