Capital Governor affirms UN’s role in achieving sustainable development dimensions

Shaikh Rashid bin Abdulrahman Al Khalifa, Capital Governor discussed with Khaled El Mekwad, United Nations Resident Coordinator in Bahrain, the mechanism for integrating sustainable development goals into the governorate's programs and initiatives, especially those related to the voluntary, humanitarian, and developmental aspects.

The governor stressed that the UN is an essential and important partner in achieving sustainable development facets in the governorate.

Shaikh Rashid reviewed the community and sustainable development projects and initiatives implemented by the governorate in partnership with government institutions, civil society organizations and the private sector.

He Noted that the governorate is keen to conduct thorough analysis of the current situation, predict future trends and carry out impact assessment after implementing its initiatives to ensure the integration of sustainable development in various aspects.

The Resident Coordinator said that his meeting with the governor is part of constant communication between the UN Resident Coordinator's Office and various active partners to promote development goals.
