Marrakech: The 5th edition of the ICAO Global Implementation Support Symposium (GISS) opened on Tuesday in Marrakech, attended by government officials, representatives of civil aviation authorities, international organizations and financial institutions, as well as key players in the global aviation industry.
According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, the event is held under the High Patronage of His Majesty King Mohammed VI and organized by the Ministry of Transport and Logistics, in partnership with the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO). The symposium, which runs from April 14-16, is themed “Regional Solutions, Global Benefits.”
The symposium serves as a strategic platform aimed at bolstering international cooperation and supporting the implementation of ICAO standards and policies under the “No Country Left Behind” initiative. The agenda includes a ministerial roundtable and several panels addressing key issues, notably air connectivity, “Zero Fatalities” safety, aviation funding, strengthen
ing regional mechanisms, airport infrastructure development, and talent training.
