Colonial Israeli settlers assault farmers in Bethlehem

Colonial Israeli settlers assaulted Palestinian farmers this evening in the town of Al-Khader, in the occupied West Bank province of Bethlehem, forcibly preventing them from accessing their lands to harvest grapes, according to local sources. Ahmad Salah, a local Palestinian activist, reported to WAFA that a group of settlers, accompanied by Israeli occupation forces, obstructed the farmers who were on their way to their lands. He pointed out that not only did the settlers forcibly bar the farmers from reaching their lands to pick grapefruits, but they also stole an amount of grapes from the farmers. The Israeli occupation imposes the prerequisite of obtaining prior permits for farmers in the village to access their lands, Salah added. In addition to these permit requirements, farmers face ongoing attacks from Israeli occupation forces and settlers, enduring hours of detention and mistreatment.
