Manama, In preparation for the International School Games (ISF) Gymnasiade, hosted by Bahrain during October 23-31, the Ministry of Education and the event’s supreme organising committee have taken all necessary steps to ensure the success of this global educational sports event, held under the patronage of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa.

The Ministry of Education confirmed that classes will proceed as usual in all public and private schools throughout the event.

As the opening ceremony will take place on the evening of Thursday, October 24, at Bahrain National Stadium, with all participating students from abroad attending, school dismissal times for government schools on that day will be adjusted as follows:

– Primary level: 11:45 a.m.

– Intermediate level: 12:15 p.m.

– Secondary level: 12:45 p.m.

Private schools have been informed that it is recommended, though not mandatory, to dismiss students at 1:00 p.m. on the same date, especially for those schools not affected by exams or other non-
reschedulable activities. This applies solely to schools and excludes other educational institutions.

Dr. Mohammed bin Mubarak Juma, the Minister of Education, emphasised the ministry’s commitment to maintaining the daily educational routine. The dismissal time adjustments on the day of the opening ceremony aim to provide flexibility of movement for the international students participating in the event to attend the ceremony.

The minister expressed his appreciation to all educational and administrative staff across Bahrain’s schools and noted that schools are welcome to involve students in watching and cheering during the competitions, in coordination with the relevant educational departments and the educational services sector at the Ministry of Education.
