FIFAe World Cup 2024: Morocco’s Anas Moussa Clinches Silver Medal


RIYADH: Morocco’s Anas Moussa achieved a significant milestone by securing the silver medal at the FIFAe World Cup 2024 in the eFootball-Mobile category, held in Riyadh. Despite a valiant effort, Moussa was defeated in the final by the Malaysian representative, earning a $15,000 prize for his performance.

According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, Moussa’s achievement marks a historic moment as he becomes the first Arab and African player to reach this stage of the competition. His journey to the final included a notable victory over the Thai team representative in the semi-finals. Moussa qualified for the FIFAe World Cup after winning the e-Mountakhab, a competition organized by the Royal Moroccan Federation of Electronic Games in collaboration with FIFA, which featured participation from the top 100 Moroccan players globally.

Throughout the tournament, Moussa distinguished himself by finishing second in his group and subsequently overcoming the South Korean representative in a two-legged tie. His impressive
run continued with a historic victory over the Thai representative in both legs of their match-up.

The FIFAe World Cup 2024 is part of an official eSports competition organized by FIFA, known as the Fédération Internationale de Football Association. Established in 2004 with the inaugural FIFA Interactive World Cup, the event has evolved into a professional sport, now represented by the dedicated FIFAe brand.
