Manama, Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa Al Khalifa, the Minister of Finance and National Economy, affirmed Bahrain’s commitment to continuing the development of the financial and banking sector, highlighting its importance as a priority sector.
He emphasised the significant role financial institutions play in supporting economic development and advancing progress across all areas.
The minister made these remarks during a meeting with Dr. José Viñals, Chairman of Standard Chartered Bank, and senior officials from the bank.
Shaikh Salman bin Khalifa noted the sector’s contributions to creating new investment opportunities and highlighted the importance of continued exchange of expertise and best practices with regional and international financial institutions to achieve common goals.
The meeting also covered topics of mutual interest in the financial and banking sector, as well as the latest global economic developments.
