Foreign Minister hails strong Arab-Japanese parnrship

Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al-Zayani, Minister of Foreign Affairs, participated in the third session of the Arab-Japan Political Dialogue chaired by Sameh Shoukry, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Egypt, and Yoshimasa Hayashi, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Japan.

Dr. Al Zayani noted that this dialogue reflects the strong ties and joint commitment between the Arab and Asian regions to further enhance cooperation.

Together, we face the pressing challenges facing our nations, by forging a deeper understanding and exploring avenues for cooperation, so that we can harness our collective potential to shape a more prosperous and peaceful future for our peoples, Al Zayani said.

This meeting represents a unique opportunity to exchange ideas, views, and experiences, as it is a platform through which we can engage in an open and constructive dialogue on issues of common interest, such as economic cooperation, trade partnerships, cultural exchange, and regional security, he added.

Dr. Al Zayani emphasised the potential of the Arab-Japanese partnership for growth and development.

He stressed the importance of both sides' commitment to supporting pluralism, international law, peace, stability, and prosperity for all, highlighting the potential of this partnership.

The meeting concluded with a joint statement expressing satisfaction with Arab-Japanese cooperation and a desire to expand it to cultural, educational, environmental, and energy fields, and to hold the next Arab-Japanese Economic Forum in Japan next year.

The Ministers emphasised the importance of fostering a culture of human solidarity for international peace and security and urged joint action to tackle global challenges like terrorism, sustainable development, energy, and food security.

They stressed the importance of maintaining international peace, security, and stability, as well as promoting peaceful dispute resolution in line with the United Nations Charter and international law principles. They also urged concerted regional and international efforts to find political solutions to regional issues.
