Foundation Mohammed V for Solidarity Launches Medical, Surgical Campaign in Es-Semara

Es-semara: The Foundation Mohammed V for Solidarity has launched a significant medical and surgical campaign in Es-Semara, as part of its annual efforts to address unmet needs in surgery and specialized care for disadvantaged populations.

According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, a dedicated team comprising 46 doctors, including surgeons, specialists, and general practitioners, has been mobilized to ensure the smooth execution of the campaign. Paramedical staff, in coordination with the Foundation’s medical managers and social workers, are actively preparing and supporting beneficiaries.

Noureddine Ratbi, head of the humanitarian and medical division at the Foundation, highlighted the scale of the initiative, emphasizing the mobilization of extensive medical, nursing, and logistical resources. Ratbi noted the contribution of several institutional and associative partners in facilitating this community service.

The campaign, the sixth organized nationally this year and the first in Es-Semara, addresses a bro
ad spectrum of medical specialties such as pediatrics, gynecology-obstetrics, endocrinology, ophthalmology, and dentistry. Surgical procedures will encompass general surgery, pediatric surgery, and cataract surgery.

Over the course of the three-day campaign, the Foundation aims to conduct more than 100 surgical procedures and provide multidisciplinary consultations to approximately 4,500 people. The activities will be centered at two sites: the provincial hospital in Es-Semara for scheduled surgeries, and an outdoor courtyard for consultations, screenings, and specialized care, including a mobile unit for cataract surgery.

The logistical setup is designed to ensure efficient patient flow from reception to clinical examination, therapeutic guidance, and medical care. Mobile medical units will enhance diagnostic and specialist consultation services, while the Moroccan Medical Solidarity Association’s surgical unit will bolster local surgical capacity.

This initiative is supported by local authorities, the pr
ovincial delegation for Health and Social Protection in Es-Semara, the Agadir University Hospital Center, the AMMS, and the Higher Institute of Nursing and Health Techniques in LaSyoune. The campaign underscores the Foundation’s ongoing commitment to expanding access to specialized care and improving community livelihoods.
