Gabon Reiterates Support for Moroccan Sahara Autonomy Plan

New York:Gabon has reaffirmed its support for the Moroccan autonomy initiative at the United Nations, describing it as a ‘serious and credible basis’ for resolving the regional dispute over the Moroccan Sahara, while respecting Morocco’s territorial integrity.

According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, Gabon’s representative spoke before the UN 4th Committee, reiterating her country’s backing for the initiative. She emphasized that the plan provides a viable framework aligned with international law, Security Council resolutions, and the legitimate aspirations of the region’s populations.
