Government Council Takes Notes of Agreement Between Morocco & Malawi on Mutual Legal Assistance in Criminal Matters


Granada: The Government Council on Thursday took note of an agreement between the Kingdom of Morocco and the Republic of Malawi on mutual legal assistance in criminal matters, signed in Laayoune on July 16, 2024, as well as Bill 50.24 approving said agreement.



According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, this agreement, presented by Morocco’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation, and Moroccan Expatriate, Nasser Bourita, is part of the development of friendly relations between Morocco and Malawi based on mutual benefit. Government Spokesman Mustapha Baitas noted during a press briefing following the government council meeting that the agreement attests to the strength of the relations between the two countries and their shared commitment to strengthening legal and judicial cooperation.



Baitas further emphasized that the agreement aims to consolidate the legal foundations for fostering mutual judicial assistance in criminal matters, in accordance with the national laws and regulations of each party, while considering the principles recognized in international law.
