Accra:Head of Government Fatima Ezzahra El Mansouri described the Government Program as a political and institutional contract founded on High Royal Trust and the will of citizens expressed in the September 23 legislative elections.
According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, El Mansouri emphasized the government’s awareness of its responsibilities and the importance of upcoming key stages. Addressing both Houses of Parliament during a joint plenary session, she pledged to remain truthful about available resources and constraints, and to convert commitments into actionable programs. She highlighted the necessity of cooperation with Parliament, respecting its legislative and oversight roles, and ensuring the efficient management of political time by both the majority and the opposition.
El Mansouri expressed gratitude to King Mohammed VI for appointing her as Head of Government, noting this appointment honors Moroccan women and reflects the Sovereign’s care. She affirmed her determination to fulfill her responsibilities in serving the country and its interests. She described the current legislative term as pivotal in the reform process led by the King, which involves modernizing institutions and expanding rights.
She also noted Morocco’s advanced regionalization approach as a model of stability and reform, with the constitutional Monarchy ensuring state continuity and the popular will forming the basis for government responsibilities. The recent elections confirmed Morocco’s democratic maturity, as citizens expressed their aspirations for improved public services and reduced disparities.
El Mansouri acknowledged the need to translate these expectations into concrete policies in collaboration with economic and social stakeholders. She recognized Morocco’s progress in reforms and international presence, but noted that benefits have been unevenly distributed. The government aims to focus on employment, living conditions, and service quality, while improving resource allocation to enhance impacts on citizens’ daily lives.
Addressing global challenges, El Mansouri pointed out geopolitical tensions and climate change pressures, while highlighting Morocco’s strategic assets, such as proximity to European markets and institutional stability. She concluded that the government’s mission is to leverage these opportunities to advance Morocco’s ambition of becoming an emerging economic power, ensuring a balance between growth and social justice.
