Cairo, Jaleela bint Al Sayed Jawad Hasan, Minister of Health, participated in the second edition of the Global Conference on Population, Health and Human Development (PHDC’24), held under the theme Human Development: For a Sustainable Future”.

The conference was held under the patronage of His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El Sisi of Egypt, with the participation of a distinguished group of government officials, leaders, and experts in health and development.

The event discussed key global challenges in public health, population growth, and human development, focusing on innovations and sustainable solutions that enhance healthcare, combat diseases, and promote prevention.

The minister underscored Bahrain’s commitment to strengthening the healthcare system and ensuring comprehensive services for all citizens and residents.

She also highlighted the importance of enhancing international cooperation to address global health challenges, particularly in light of population changes and environmental develo
pments that require effective responses and planning to drive sustainable growth, ensuring a healthier and more prosperous future.

The minister noted that the conference provides an opportunity for the exchange of expertise and to learn from global best practices in the fields of health and human development.

The conference includes 133 panel discussions on health, population, and human development, featuring 803 international and local experts and specialists.

The topics cover the interlinking of health, population, and human development, the means to build resilient health systems, the importance of empowering individuals and communities, adapting to changing population dynamics and environmental challenges, and addressing how to achieve equity and improve access to quality healthcare, education, and economic opportunities to enhance public health outcomes.
