Rabat: A heatwave and thunderstorms accompanied by hail and gusty winds are expected from Friday to Monday in several provinces of the Kingdom, the General Directorate of Meteorology (DGM) said.
According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, a heatwave, with temperatures ranging from 43 to 46°C, will affect the provinces of Oued Ed-Dahab, Assa-Zag, Es-Semara, Tata, Aousserd, and Boujdour, from Friday to Monday. The DGM issued this warning in a weather alert bulletin at orange vigilance level.
The same phenomenon, with temperatures ranging from 38 to 42°C, is forecast from Friday to Sunday in the provinces of Taroudant, Guelmim, Khouribga, Settat, Chichaoua, Sidi Bennour, Essaouira, Safi, Fez, Khemisset, Taounate, Youssoufia, Beni Mellal, Fquih Ben Salah, Meknes, El Kelaa des Sraghna, Sidi Kacem, Marrakech, Rehamna, Khenifra, Sidi Slimane, and Moulay Yacoub.
In addition, thunderstorms accompanied by hail and gusty winds, with rainfall amounts of 15 to 25 mm, will affect the provinces of Khenifra, Al Haouz, Azilal
, Ifrane, and Midelt on Friday from 2:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m.
