Rabat: Minister Delegate in charge of Digital Transition and Administrative Reform Amal El Fallah Seghrouchni received the African Excellence Award in the “Artificial Intelligence, Digital Sovereignty and Public Innovation” category on Thursday evening in Paris, as part of the Africa Next Awards 2026.
According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, the award recognizes her career and her contribution to digital transformation, the modernization of public administration, and the development of artificial intelligence. In a statement to MAP, Seghrouchni expressed her pride in the distinction, which she said recognizes the major advances made in the areas of digital transition and administrative reform in the Kingdom.
She added that the award more broadly recognizes Africans who have contributed to the development of the continent in various fields. The Minister also highlighted initiatives undertaken in support of youth and digital accessibility, as well as Morocco’s efforts in connectivity and the development of digital infrastructure, particularly for rural areas. These initiatives also aim, she said, to bridge the digital divide and broaden access to technology.
According to a statement from her department, Seghrouchni’s award “comes within a broader context of reforms undertaken by Morocco and driven by a determination to accelerate the transformation of public administration,” noting that “the vision implemented by the Ministry is based, in this regard, on the complementarity between digital transition and administrative reform, viewed as two inseparable levers for transforming the administrative model, improving the quality of public services, and enhancing the efficiency of administrative action and its proximity to citizens and businesses.”
Through the African Excellence Award, the Africa Next Awards 2026 thus highlight an approach combining digital transformation, administrative reform, artificial intelligence, digital sovereignty, and public innovation, in the service of modernizing public action and advancing the Kingdom’s digital development, the statement added.
