Rabat: Hot weather, a heatwave and thundershowers accompanied by hail and strong wind gusts are expected from Monday to Wednesday in several provinces across the Kingdom, according to the national weather authority.
According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, temperatures ranging between 39°C and 42°C are forecast on Monday in the provinces of Taza, Taounate, Khemisset, Kh©nifra, Fquih Ben Salah, Khouribga, and Settat, the Directorate General of Meteorology (DGM) said in an orange-level weather alert.
The provinces of Errachidia, Jerada, Taourirt, Figuig, Zagora, Tata, Boujdour, Oued Ed-Dahab, Aousserd, Guercif, Boulemane, Assa-Zag, and Es-Semara are expected to experience a heatwave from Monday through Wednesday, with temperatures ranging between 39°C and 44°C.
The DGM also forecasts thunderstorms bringing 20 to 30 mm of rainfall, accompanied by a risk of hail and strong wind gusts, on Monday from 2:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. in the provinces of Khenifra, Ifrane, and Sefrou.
