Rabat: Heavy rain, strong wind gusts, and snowfall are forecasted to impact multiple provinces from Saturday to Monday, as per a weather alert issued by the Directorate of National Meteorology (DGM). Beginning Saturday at 1:00 p.m., provinces including Inezgane-Ait Melloul, Chtouka-Ait Baha, Agadir Ida-Outanane, Taroudant, and Essaouira are expected to experience rain accumulations between 80 and 100 mm until Sunday at 6:00 p.m.
According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, a separate orange-level alert predicts rainfall between 30 and 55 mm from Saturday afternoon to Sunday morning in additional provinces such as Safi, Chichaoua, Sidi Bennour, Khenifra, and others. Meanwhile, a lighter rainfall of 20 to 30 mm is expected over the same period in provinces including Rabat, Salé, and Casablanca.
Furthermore, from Sunday morning to Monday noon, provinces like Tangier-Assilah, M’diq-Fnideq, and Tetouan are forecasted to receive rainfall ranging from 50 to 80 mm. In addition to the rain, strong wind gusts between 70
and 85 km/h are anticipated from Saturday afternoon to Sunday noon across various regions including Sefrou, Al Hoceima, and Marrakech.
Snowfall is also predicted at elevations above 2,000 meters, with accumulations of 20 to 50 cm expected to affect provinces such as Midelt, Tinghir, and Azilal from Saturday afternoon until Monday night.
