Rabat: Heavy rainfall, snowfall above 1,500 meters, and cold weather are expected from Wednesday to Saturday in several provinces of the Kingdom, according to the General Directorate of Meteorology (DGM).
According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, strong rains, stormy at times, ranging from 30-50mm, are forecast from Wednesday at 1 p.m. to Thursday midnight in the provinces of Azilal, Beni Mellal, Al Haouz, Khenifra, and Kelaa Sraghna. The DGM has issued an “orange” level weather alert for these areas.
Additionally, 20-30mm of rainfall is anticipated to affect the provinces of Settat, Mohammedia, Chtouka-Ait Baha, Sidi Ifni, Taroudant, Tiznit, Kenitra, Sidi Slimane, Nouaceur, Benslimane, Khemisset, Berrechid, Rabat, Midelt, Rehamna, Casablanca, Mediouna, Essaouira, Fquih Ben Salah, Youssoufia, Sidi Bennour, Safi, El Jadida, Chichaoua, Skhirat-Temara, and Sal©.
Moreover, snowfall measuring 20-40cm above 1,500-meter altitudes is expected from Wednesday at 1 p.m. until Thursday at 6 p.m. in the provinces of Midelt, Boulemane, Sefrou, Ifrane, Al Haouz, Azilal, and Ouarzazate. The DGM has indicated that 7-20cm of snow is forecasted during the same period in Al Hoceima, Taza, Taroudant, Chichaoua, Beni Mellal, Guercif, and Tinghir.
A cold spell, with temperatures ranging from -7 to -3 degrees Celsius, is expected from Thursday to Saturday in the provinces of Midelt, Boulemane, Tinghir, Azilal, Chichaoua, Ouarzazate, Al Haouz, Taroudant, and Ifrane, as noted in the weather alert.
