His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports, Chairman of the General Sports Authority and President of Bahrain Olympic Committee received Dr. Hussain Musallam, Director General of the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA) and President of World Aquatics.
The meeting was attended by His Highness Shaikh Salman bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, Vice President of the General Sports Authority and Faris Mustafa Al Kooheji, Secretary General of Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC).
HH Shaikh Khalid congratulated Al Musallam on receiving an Honorary Doctorate Causa Award from the Vassil Levski National Sports Academy in Bulgaria, in recognition of his contribution to water sports.
HH affirmed the role of Al Musallam at the OCA and his efforts in developing the Olympic movement in the Asian region and the world.
The cooperation between the BOC and OCA was highlighted during the meeting. HH Shaikh noted the success of the series of events held in collaboration with the OCA, which include the Gender Equity Seminar held last year and the Asian Games Fun Run in Hangzhou 2022,
