Manama, Under the patronage of His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports (SCYS), Chairman of the General Sports Authority (GSA), and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC), the Khalid bin Hamad Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) Championship 2024 took place at Khalifa Sports City.

The event, organised by the MMA Federation, under the supervision of the Bahrain Combat Sports Council, was attended by His Highness Shaikh Salman bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, Vice President of the General Sports Authority and President of Bahrain Combat Sports Council.

The championship was also attended by HH Shaikh Salman’s sons, Shaikh Mohammed bin Salman bin Mohammed Al Khalifa and Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, along with senior officials, including the Dr. Abdulrahman Askar, CEO of the General Sports Authority (GSA), and the Kerrith Brown, President of the International Mixed Martial Arts Federation (IMMAF).

HH Shaikh Salman thanked Shaikh
Khalid for his patronage, highlighting the significant impact of Shaikh Khalid’s support on the development and achievements of Bahraini MMA. He emphasised that the Bahrain Combat Sports Council is committed to advancing all combat sports by supporting national federations and implementing plans to ensure continued success.

HH Shaikh Salman commended the efforts of the Bahrain MMA Federation (BMMAF), led by President Mohammed Qambar, for its contributions to the sport’s progress and the formation of competitive national teams. He also noted the high level of participation and the impressive performances in the championship.

At the conclusion of the championship, HH Shaikh Salman crowned the winners and honoured the sponsors, wishing the remaining participants success in future competitions.
