Sochi: HM King Mohammed VI’s Vision for partnerships and development in Africa and the Royal Initiatives for the continent were highlighted, on Sunday in Sochi, by Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccan Expatriates, Nasser Bourita, during the First Ministerial Conference of the Russia-Africa Partnership Forum.
According to Agence Marocaine De Presse, the three major Royal initiatives, relating to the Rabat Atlantic African States Process, the initiative to facilitate Sahel countries’ access to the Atlantic Ocean, and the Nigeria-Morocco Gas Pipeline Initiative, are making significant progress. Bourita stated that these initiatives are advancing well and reflect the call made by His Majesty the King for a shift in approach from traditional partners towards the African continent. He noted that Africa requires fewer aid-based solutions and more mutually beneficial partnerships.
Morocco’s unwavering commitment to Africa was reaffirmed in Sochi by Bourita, who emphasized the unique nature
of the Sovereign’s African policy. This policy is rooted in a vision for Africa’s development, focusing on a human-centered approach that seeks African solutions to local challenges. It is supported by active, solidarity-based, and effective South-South cooperation.
In line with the Royal Vision, the Minister underscored the importance of structuring projects for human and social development in Africa. He added that Africa’s most effective partner is one that understands how to support its growth, address its challenges, and enhance its potential.
