Manama, His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, and Prime Minister, today received a cable of congratulations from the Commander-in-Chief of the Bahrain Defence Force (BDF), HE Field Marshal Shaikh Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, on the BDF women’s military athletics team winning first place at the 2nd World Military Half Marathon Championship, which was held in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, on May 23-26.
The BDF women’s team’s runners won first place at the team and individual levels, winning the World Military Half Marathon event, while the men’s team finished third in the event.
HE Field Marshal Shaikh Khalifa bin Ahmed emphasised that this win was made possible due to the leadership of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, and the support of HRH the Crown Prince and Prime Minister.
