RAMALLAH: The head of the Colonization and Wall Resistance Commission, Moayad Shaaban, said that the significant surge in colonists’ attacks in the last week comes from occupation forces who fully provided them with protection.
‘The increase in the rate of settlers’ attacks in the last week comes in light of the reassurances they receive from the political echelon of the Israeli occupation government, which provides them with protection and immunity from any imminent trials or penalties that may be imposed on them.’
Shaaban said, in a statement, that colonists’ attacks had decreased weeks ago as a result of international calls denouncing the terrorism of the colonists.
He pointed out that since the beginning of this year, the colonists have carried out approximately 120 attacks, the latest of which was the killing of the Palestinian youth Tawfiq Ajaq, 17, near the town of Al-Mazraa Al-Sharqiya, east of the city of Ramallah after fatally shooting him.
Colonists yesterday set a number of civilians’ property
on fire in the village of Beitin, northeast of Ramallah.
Masafer Yatta also saw yesterday a hideous attack when a group of Israeli colonists punctured the tiers of several of parked vehicles belonging to Palestinian teachers.
He added that more than 35 attacks Palestinian citizens’ property were carried out by colonists dressed as the occupation army on , in addition to more than 23 attacks that were carried out under full protection from the occupation army.
